How do I sign up?+
Submit your family information online (about five minutes — no payment required). We'll schedule a short screening call to confirm a good fit. Once approved, the $149 annual membership is charged and you have full booking access.
Why is there a screening call?+
We vet both sides. The screening call means every sitter is matched with a family we've spoken to — just as every family knows their sitter has completed our screening process.
When am I charged the membership fee?+
Only after you're approved. If your application doesn't move forward, you're never charged.
How far in advance should I book?+
Up to two months ahead or as last-minute as 4 hours before. The earlier you book, the lower the booking fee.
Can I request the same sitter every time?+
Yes. Favorite preferred sitters and prioritize their availability. Many families build a small rotation of two or three trusted sitters.
Can I message my sitter before the booking?+
Yes — for any logistics like drop-off notes, dinner plans, bedtime routines, or allergies.
Can I cancel my booking?+
Yes. More than 24 hours before — no charge. Within 24 hours — 2-hour minimum. Within 4 hours — full booking charged.
What if my sitter has to cancel?+
You'll be notified immediately and our team will help you rebook at no additional cost.
Is there a minimum booking length?+
3 hours for one-time care, 2 hours for care while you're home, 4-week minimum for recurring care.
Are sitters background checked?+
Yes — every sitter completes a third-party background check as part of our screening process before they can be booked.
Do sitters drive my children?+
Only if you specifically request it and the sitter is approved to do so. Filter for driving-eligible sitters when booking.
What ages do sitters care for?+
Newborns through age 13.
How are sitters paid? Do I tip?+
Payment processes automatically after the booking ends. Tipping is appreciated but never expected — tip directly in the platform.
How much do sitters earn?+
Starting at $18/hour.
How do I get paid?+
Through direct deposit.
Do I have to accept a minimum number of bookings?+
No. You set your availability.
Can I sit for families outside the platform?+
Sitters are independent contractors, but bookings originating from a Sitter Connection family should stay on the platform — for payment and platform-policy reasons.
What if I don't have CPR certification yet?+
You can apply, and we'll help you get certified within 30 days.
How long does the application process take?+
Typically 7–14 days from application to first booking.
Are all sitters background checked?+
Yes — every sitter completes a third-party background check as part of our screening process.
Are sitters CPR certified?+
Yes. Current Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification, verified annually.
Do you meet sitters one-on-one?+
Yes. Every sitter is interviewed and vetted by our team — by Zoom or in person.
Do you vet families too?+
Yes. Every family completes a screening call before approval.
What if something goes wrong during a booking?+
Our team is available 24/7. For emergencies, call 911 first, then contact our support line.
How does payment work?+
You add a payment method after your screening call. After each booking ends, you're charged the hourly total plus the tiered booking fee.
When is the $149 membership charged?+

Is the membership a subscription?+
It's an annual membership, renewed each year on the anniversary of your approval.
What payment methods do you accept?+
All major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Can I get a receipt for FSA or dependent care reimbursement?+
